Dr. Nima Massoomi

Dr. Nima Massoomi was born in Brooklyn, New York while his father was pursuing a residency in OB/GYN. He grew-up in Northern New York in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. That is where he attended St. Lawrence University and majored in biology and chemistry, graduating at the top of his class, Phi Beta Kappa. After completing his undergraduate work, he moved to Boston to commence in basic science research at Boston University School of Medicine, where he did research on collagen and elastin gene expression. Shortly after a few publications, Dr. Massoomi decided to attend University of Pennsylvania to pursue a dual-degree in Dentistry and Education. While in Dental School he was one of the only 20 dental students in the country to win a research fellowship at National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. After finishing at the top of his class, he furthered his training by pursuing a six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) program at Vanderbilt University. This included attending Medical school at Vanderbilt University, a top 15 medical school. Lastly, after seeing the long-term psychological effects of disfiguring facial injuries, Dr. Massoomi, decided to partake in a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship, to help improve the lives of those most affected. As one of only six Facial Cosmetics Surgery Fellowships in the country, he was selected out of 200 applicants to partake Dr. Evans' Fellowship at Ohio State.

Finally, after fifteen years of schooling, in the summer of 2008, he started a private practice in Cupertino, CA. In an effort to be eco friendly, Dr. Massoomi created one of the most high-tech, environmentally conscious, OMFS office to serve the Northern California.

Dr. Massoomi is an Associate Professor in OMFS at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. If there is any free time, he likes to spend it biking, hiking and running in the most beautiful San Francisco.
