Dr. Baldassari-Cruz is a native Californian born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. She graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California San Francisco in 1990. During her training she was commissioned into the United States Navy Dental Corps then completed a one-year hospital dental residency at San Diego Naval Medical Center. As a lieutenant and a lieutenant commander she traveled to many countries and was department head on a Navy warship and worked hard as a general dentist. The Navy selected Dr. Baldassari-Cruz for post-graduate training in endodontics, (Specialty in Root canal Treatment). She completed a 2-year residency in endodontics at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. Dr. Baldassari-Cruz was promoted to full Commander and earned Board certification in Endodontics in 2001.

Dr. "BC" spent 2 years teaching full time after her Navy career as an Assistant Professor of Endodontics at the University of Iowa. She currently teaches General Practice Dental Residents at the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto and is a Basic Life Support Instructor/Trainer for the San Mateo County Dental Society. Dr. Baldassari-Cruz provides assistance to candidates who work toward their Board Certification in Endodontics and is a Manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics. She is a member of many professional dental organizations, CDA, ADA, AAE, ABE, COD, MPDS, she is a member and officer in the Northern California Association of Endodontics study club and a member in the Northern California Academy of Dental Research. Dr. BC has published a number of articles in the Journal of Endodontics and the Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiography and Endodontics Journal.

After moving back to the Bay Area in 2002, Dr. BC started her practice of endodontics at a private office in Palo Alto and later joined the Skydental group in 2006. She loves working with patients helping them improve their dental health and their understanding of their teeth, oral hygiene and nutrition.

Dr. BC enjoys exercise, hiking, cooking, singing, reading, traveling, shopping, movies and amateur wine collecting. She has an adorable miniature schnauzer named Amy and goes on long walks to the park with her.
